Leonard Veillette
Since graduating from Rocky Mount Senior High in the mid-1960's Leonard Veillette has been
continuously active in graphic design - either teaching or working with clients throughout Eastern North Carolina.
After graduation from East Carolina University with an MFA in Communication Arts, Leonard taught in the NC
Community College System before starting what has become Veillette Advertising Design. The revolutionary
roll-out trash can of the early 1970's was the first major advertising account. Along with his father, Roland and
brother, Gene, Veillette Printing and Advertising, Inc. was born. Today, Veillette Advertising Design, while no
longer printing, carries on the business heritage. In addition, Leonard is occasionally a lecturer in Communication
Arts at East Carolina University, School of Art. Believing in good customer service and appropriate graphic design,
long-term advertising clients can be found throughout North Carolina, including new ventures for the original trash can
client from over 25 years ago.
